Meet our Corporate Sponsors

The Puckett Observatory Supernova Search (POSS) effort has brought together a diverse group of dedicated amateur astronomers with a common goal of discovering supernovae.

The POSS team consists of talented observers, electrical engineers, craftsman and software programmers who have devoted many years to amateur astronomy. As ambitious as our goals have been, we recognize the need to establish partnerships with the technology leaders in our field. By combining the equipment and consulting from our technology partners with our own expertise in optics, observatory construction and observation, we can achieve much more as a team that we might have separately. With our newly installed systems, we are hopeful we can make an even greater contribution to astronomy in the future. With special appreciation for all their help to our effort, we give recognition to our corporate sponsors below.

Apogee Instruments, Inc. produces high speed low noise cameras for the Biomedical and Astronomy market. We use their AP7 SITe based systems which are unmatched in price and performance. That's why we purchased their very first production SITe system years ago. The combination of a back illuminated thinned chip and low system noise produces extremely clean high signal to noise images. This is extremely important to our Supernova search where discriminating faint stars from background is the key. Apogee has been the leading sponsor since 1996.

Software Bisque, has been a long time friend for a decade. Hardware contributions, unlimited use of the SKY, CCDSoft, Orchestrate and T-point since 1994.

DC-3 Dreams, SP., I have worked with Bob Denny for years and was one of the first alpha testers for his products. Bob has helped the team for many years.
